Practitioner Bio

Born c. 1550 in Braganza or Lisbon, Portugal. Married to Aldonsa Maldonado, father of Francisco Maldonado de Silva. Arrived c. 1580 in Brazil before travelling through Potosí, where he encountered Álvaro Núñez in 1583 or 1584. Moved c. 1590 to San Miguel de Tucuman. Practiced medicine. Arrested in May 1601. Reconciled in 1605. Moved to Callao to practice medicine there as punishment. Petition for restoration of property in 1609. Died in 1616.
